CNet creates spin-off IoTBridge

We have now started a new spin-off company, IoTBridge, to commercialise results from our innovation projects Monica, IoTBridge and InfraSweden2030.

IoTBridge is focused on developing and marketing structural health monitoring of bridges using IoT – Internet of Things and AI technologies according to Peter Rosengren CEO for CNet.

IoTBridge has been founded by CNet and two world-leading researchers and bridge experts from the Department of Structural Engineering and Bridges at the Royal Institute of Technology, KTH, Professor Raid Kharoumi and Associate Professor John Leander. IoTBridge will combine CNets IoT and cloud technologies with structural engineering algorithms for damage detection and life time assessment.

MONICA successfully deploys crowd wristband at Tivolis Friday Rock

On Friday the 26th of April 2019 the MONICA project successfully tested a new feature, the crowd wristband, at the Friday Rock Concert at the Tivoli in Denmark. About 150 visitors to the concert had preregistered a wristband before the concert and 250 additional visitors signed up on the venue before the concert.

Overall 400 wristbands were deployed on the venue. The wristbands will enable to share contacts, find missing persons, get involved in the concert with blinking LEDs and a potentially a deployment for cash payments. Even if the applications to provide this functionality haven’t been fully implemented and the visitors could not look at the information collected during the concert, a survey after the venue showed that these features were perceived as unanimously positive.

Spin-off CheckHealth for eHealth

CNet Svenska AB has created another new Spinn-off company, CheckHealth, to commercialise the results from our innovation project PICASO.

CheckHealth is a Medtech company focused on developing and marketing products and services for remote care and patient data collection according to Peter Rosengren CEO of CNet.

Healthcare organisations require that care management of patients with chronic conditions need to be more personalised and cost-effective. CheckHealth meets these requirements with a secure remote monitoring platform for health data collection, including FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) care plans, wireless devices for vital signs monitoring, smart wearables for behaviour monitoring and intelligent digital assistants for self-assessments.

PICASO Workshop on management of multi-morbidity

Most established health care systems focus their effort on the treatment of single chronic conditions. They gather specialists involved in the treatment of this condition and focus on health and action plans that are centred on the treatment of this condition. In the case of a single chronic disease, this strategy provides a knowledgeable network of specialist applying state of the art treatment with good communication and overall coordination. But if a person has more than one chronic diseases this approach has limitations. Information exchange and coordination between different health care teams are sometimes inefficient.

The PICASO project aims to optimise the management of multiple treatment plans through harmonisation of treatment plans for patients with multiple co-morbidities. The Policlinic of Rheumatology & Hiller Research Unit at the Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf (UDUS), which provides patient care and conducts research regarding inflammatory rheumatic diseases, executed clinical trials in Germany involving patients with rheumatoid arthritis and related comorbidities. On 6th February 2019, UDUS organised a Workshop and presented the PICASO solution to optimise the management of multiple treatment plans. Participants were able to learn about the PICASO solution and join a discussion about the management of multi-morbidities.

Checkwatt expands

CNets spin-off company Checkwatt offers solutions and services for resource efficiency through information, measurements, and visualization. CheckWatt AB offers products and IT services within the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency for both private and corporate customers.
With a fast-growing customer base in Sweden Checkwatt aims now to extend its customer base to other countries within Europe and extend its services to the demands of changing electricity systems and markets. The growing number of consumers installing solar panels and contributing to the electricity production create the opportunity to reduce CO2 emissions to mitigate climate change but also have new demands on the grid. Structures need to decentralize to meet the requirements of the changing market. In most European countries the grids consist of central gigawatt-scale generating units, thousands of miles of high voltage transmission lines, minimal energy storage and carbon-based fossil fuels or nuclear energy as a primary energy source. The possibility to deploy growing numbers of intermittent renewable generating sources offers the possibility to decentralise the market and create so-called microgrids as a flexible architecture for deploying distributed energy resources.

Checkwatt reaches 2000 installations

With prices of solar installations reducing, production efficiency increasing and more and more aesthetically options to choose solar panels are on the rise in Sweden. The number of homeowners and companies which equip suitable surface areas with photovoltaic systems is steadily growing.

More and more homeowners decide to invest in a solar installation. Sweden has sufficient sun exposure to generate renewable energy with solar installations. Investment costs of a solar installation are usually retrieved by state subsidiaries, savings in energy costs and selling surplus electricity within less than 15 years. Considering that manufacturers offer usually a 25-year performance guarantee on solar panels, installed systems provide free electricity after writing off the investment. Our spin-off company Checkwatt offers solutions and services for measuring and visualising electricity production from solar energy, and trading with energy certificates.

Checkwatt is proud to announce to register the 2000th customer this month.

MyAirCoach presents asthma monitoring system

The MyAirCoach project has developed a mobile health device and sensor-based approach connected to a patients mobile phone that measures asthma indicators and collects information to support patients and healthcare professionals. Through monitoring asthma indicators and collect a patients physiological, environmental and behavioral information, it helps patients and healthcare professionals to control the effectiveness of asthma treatment and to prevent severe asthma attacks.

CNet developed a mobile app within the project, that enables to use available indoor and outdoor measurements of asthma indicators to assess the air quality and the personal risk to experience an attack. The analysis of the personal risks can aid patients in their self-management and help to avoid severe asthma attacks.

“The purpose of the app is to make life a little easier for asthmatics in Stockholm,” says Peter Rosengren at CNet.
