CNet Blockchain Presentation at IoT Innovations Days

Blockchain technology enables IoT developers to create a new range of innovative applications that allows a set of independent actors to share data and execute business transactions in a trusted environment without having to use proprietary networks and centralised trusted third parties. The Blockchain represent a distributed ledger of transactions that all parties can share and trust. Potential applications range from financial transactions, food traceability to distributed electronic patient records, In the COMPOSITION project we are researching, developing and evaluating blockchain solutions for supply chain management and trusted product traceability to support factories of the future. Blockchains are also used to establish a trusted agent-based market place for automated tendering and negotiation supporting trading.

IoT and blockchains for collaborative manufacturing

We recently launched our new Project COMPOSITION, a 3 year project focused on smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0. The Project will develop Technologies for IoT, Deep Learning and blockchain to provide a platform to allow collaborative manufacturing involving different stakeholders such as factories, logistics companies, suppliers, retailers and consultant in an ecosystem. Two use cases will be developed – manufacturing of medical devices and supply chain management.

The project will implement RAMI 4.0 (Reference Model Architecture Industry 4.0). CNet is the technical coordinator of the project which has a budget of 7,6 MEur.

CNet delivers Energy Efficiency solution in Amazonas

The IMPRESS project had its final review in April. It took place in Brazil. The use case has been the famous opera house Teatro Amazonas in Manuas in Brazil. In the project CNet has developed deployment tools for installations of large scale IoT applications. Also a set of development tools, including an IoT Resource and Service Catalogue and an IoT event debugging tool have been developed. The project was carried out by a consortium of European and Brazilian partners.

Blockchains for improved healthcare management

Our new project PICASO have now started. The project aims at improving the situation for patients with multi-morbidities, that is several unrelated diseases. One of the biggest problems is that their health information is stored and managed in many different locations, making it difficult for different care organisations to get the overall picture of the patient’s health status and history of treatments and therapies.

CNet who is the technical coordinator of PICASO will develop new solutions based on blockchain technology to management and exchange distributed patient health data in a secure and trusted way. This is part of our innovation area Disease Management and Elderly Care.

Succesful IoT Seminar

Together with Swedish Computer Society CNet gave a breakfast seminar on Innovation with Internet of Things. The seminar was well visited and also broadcasted over the web. The attendants were knowledgeable and there were lively discussions on how to integrate IoT into existing business systems to achieve process improvements.

CNet exhibits IoT Infrastructure Asset Management Solutions

We will participate and exhibit the results of our R&D project IoTBridge at the Eureka Innovation Week in Stockholm 26-27 April. Roads and bridges are critical infrastructures in a city. Repairs and maintenance work immediately effects the traffic situation. Manual inspections of road and bridge conditions are costly. These problems are tackled by the IoTBridge consortium in which CNet is a part. We are combining different types of sensors embedded into wireless sensor networks which exchange information utilising cloud technologies. Data on the use of bridges and status of various parts is analysed to optimise inspection intervals and maintenance to reduce the costs for upkeep and ensure safety. A first installation of the system is done at the new Årsta Bridge, a railway bridge in Stockholm. This is part of our innovation activitities targeting Smart Cities and Infrastructure Management.

REST API added to LinkWatch Observation Server

We have now made the LinkWatch Observation Server available through a REST API. eHealth developers can now retrieve streams of observations and display them in different, easy to understand diagrams to both clinicians and to patients. It can be used both for traditional patient and clinician portals, as well as for smart phone app developments. LinkWatch Medical Device Gateways for PC, tablets and smart phones, LinkWatch Health Plugins and the LinkWatch Observation Server forms the LinkWatch Remote Care Platform that can easily be customized for different care scenarios and organisations.

New LinkSmart site

We have now launched an updated version of the LinkSmart site for IoT developers. It contains documentation, code examples, demos and tutorials. Several downloadable tools are available for IoT Service code generation, debugging and IoT device management.

LinkSmart consists of a set of IoT Generic Enablers that are used to implement software-defined gateways, a concept being innovated by CNet. LinkSmart IoT Enablers acts as a bridge between the digital world and the physical world, allowing applications and apps to talk to, control and observe objects in the physical world through a common software gateway. The Linksmart.net components are fully programmable and available as Open Source. LinkSmart .net is available for a number of IoT platforms and can be used with many cloud services.

LinkWatch Observation Server Available in Azure IoT Cloud

LinkWatch Observation Server is an ehealth software that can receive medical observations from medical devices, process them and store them in database. In addition to the stand-alone SQL Server based solution we are now also offering it as a cloud service through the Microsoft Azure IoT Cloud. This relieves care organisations from having to manage and update such a complex system themselves, new devices and formats are constantly being added to the Remote Patient Monitoring market.

The LinkWatch Observation Server supports Continua, HL7, IEEE11073, IHE-PCD021 formats and can process observations encoded using these standards but also industry formats like openmHealth. The LinkWatch Observation Server also provides an REST-based API for developers that needs to retrieve observation streams (in standard formats) and incorporate them into patient and clinician portals.

The LinkWatch Observation Server can be used as a stand-alone component or cloud service, and it can also be used with the different LinkWatch Gateways for PC, tablet and smart phones and the LinkWatch Plugins to provide a complete Remote Patient Monitoring Platform.
