Hydra organises 1st “Internet of Things & Services” research workshop
The 1st international Internet of Things & Services research workshop at TrustAmI, organised by the Hydra consortium, is one out of three workshops related to security issues in ambient intelligence environments featured by the Smart Event’08 (September 16-19, 2008, Sophia Antipolis). The workshop is designed for the exchange of insight between leading researchers and experts in the whole area of Semantic Interoperability, Ambient Intelligence, Sensor Networking, and generally the Internet of People, Things and Services. Digital Artwork Distribution & Control
Ad Center is a major Scandinavian center for digital artwork control and distribution to newspapers and magazines. CNet has been selected as the main contractor in development of a new production system, partly based on CNet's product AdeTransact. The project is CNet's second within the advertising materials management area in a short time and shows an increased interest in CNet's products and know-how of the advertising business work flow, from bookings to production.

Advertising Materials Management
CNet has been awarded a project by Swedish media house VLT AB that aims to develop a complete advertising materials management system handling all external communication with advertisers, repro houses and agencies about artwork files. The system includes functionality for recieving ad files, pre-flight control, confirmation, reminders etc and is integrated with back-end ad booking systems via IfraAdConnexion messages.

New release of AdsML
AdsML Framework 2.0, release 7 was roled out June 1st. AdsML is the international data-exchange standard for managing the electronic transfer of information in the advertising industry. Ulf Wingstedt from CNet is a technical expert participating in the specification and development of AdsML standards. Read more at adsml.org.

New editorial interface in NewsToBuy
A new editor's module of NewsToBuy has been release. It has been much improved and is easier and faster to use.

AdeTransact connects ad buyers and sellers
Based on the established XML server Visual Net Server, CNet is now launching a new e-commerce product, AdeTransact. AdeTransact allows buyers and sellers of advertising space to engage in completely electronic workflows for bookings, materials and more. Advertising e-commerce is all about replacing manual and error prone business processes with efficient electronic transactions, connecting trading partners' business systems. AdeTransact has been developed in close cooperation with customers and pilot systems are already running in the UK and Sweden.

CNet builds historic portal
CNet has been selected to build a portal for the old IT research institute SISU (Swedish Institute for Systems Development). Research reports and other material will be scanned and digitised and made available in an interactive web portal designed by NewsToBuy.

VNS automates page production
Swedish media house VLT with production of custom pages for a long list of Swedish newspapers has selected CNet and Visual Net Server for their next phase in developing a system for automatic production of custom designed pages for TV and cable schedules. The project includes developement of new functionality as well as support of running production and will allow VLT to produce more pages with further customization within existing resource frames.

EU-Domain gets green light
Our European R&D project EU-Domain was reviewed by a panel of independent experts in Budapest. In this project we are developing a new platform for mobile ambient intelligence applications. The expert panel found the project innovative and performing well and gave the project a green light to continue.

CNet investigates eGovernment research
Vinnova (The Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems) has selected CNet to investigate european research on eGovernment. The study will propose a new way of coordinating eGovernment research across Europe.

eGovernet accepted
Our proposal for coordination of European research on eGoverment has now been approved by the commission. The project, eGovernet, will start from January 2006 and is led by Vinnova.

New UK partner
CNet has signed an agreement with CyberUK as distributor of CNet's products in the UK and Ireland. CyberUK is at the forefront of advances in electronic commerce in advertising in the UK and is a founder member of the AdsML Consortium. Cyber UK is responsible for the AdeTransact pilot installations running in the UK currently.

Visual Net serves the content industries with XML
Today, CNet Sweden launched Visual Net Server, an XML-server for web portals. Visual Net Server functions as a core component in XML-based portals and provides complete support for XML and related standards, parallell publishing to different media, personalisation, caching and security.

Norwegian hacker attack
Yesterday one of CNets customer sites was subjected to a Norwegian hacker attack. Thousands of database calls where generated in parallell from multiple computers over the net. The site stood tall despite the attack, while the offending sites where tracked.

First complete XML news site
25timmar, leading Swedish news agency will feed all their client sites with the help of Visual Net Server from CNet. New retail portal
Dagens Handel is now based on Visual Net Server platform. The portal is bringing news, interviews och columns to their members. The portal is covering retailing in general and more spefically e-business.

A new Visual Net-portal has been launched. It is the Swedish version of the entertainment portal EOnline! that has been developed using Visual Nets XML technology. The portal publishes the latest news and gossips in the entertainment world.

Vision premier in new media
The Visual Net portal Vision was elected "Magazine of the year" at this years media nominations. "As the leading news provider to media and to the new economy, they set the stage for how the magazine business will be required to work within 6,12 or 24 months" was the jurys motivation.

Justab joins as a CNet Partner
The system integration consultant Justab has joined CNet's partner program. They will offer XML solutions based on Visual Net Server to their clients in the highly expansive region Öresund.

VNS runs fastest XSL processor
A performance test carried out by XML.com shows that Microsoft's XSL-T processor is the fastest one available on the market. Visual Net Server uses this XSL-T processor as it's platform for XSL processing.

Ericsson chooses Visual Net
Ericsson Radio Systems have selected Visual Net to develop a large scale documentation system. The new application will enable them to offer a more user-friendly and customer adapted documentation.

Customised handbooks with Visual Net
Intertex, the leading modem supplier in Sweden, is using Visual Net to produce their end-user manuals for their new product line of modems. The handbooks are dynamically assembled depending on the configuration of a particular modem and published to the web. The result is lower production cost and more user-friendly handbooks.

Visual Net Server Release 3.0
Version 3.0 is now available for immediate delivery. The new version features functions for converting Word documents to XML. The graphical media component administrator has been improved and several new application templates have been added.

CNet reviews EU

TV4.se, the largest news site in Sweden (1 000 000 unique visitors/month) is now switching to Visual Net Server. The reason is the excellent performance shown by VNS during high traffic load.

CNet develops European standard for ad orders
Ulf Wingstedt, CNet, has been appointed as project coordinator to assist Ifra , the world's leading association for media publishing, in carrying out tests of Ifra AdConnexion, a new european XML-standard for improving the ad order booking process.

Searchable news archive based on VNS
TT, the largest news agency in Sweden, now offers their customers to search the news archive. The new service has been developed with VNS. The database is filled with news from 1990 and are open to TT:s customers.

VNS 4.3 provides support for SOAP and XML Schemas
Today, CNet launched Visual Net Server 4.3. The new version supports SOAP, XML Schema and is fully integrated with existing scripting languages. It provides XML developers with a complete framework for building their XML applications.

NewsToBuy gets updated
NewsToBuy, our ASP-based publishing service for small and medium sized publishers, has been re-designed with a new editorial interface. NewsToBuy allows you to run a professional web portal entirely over the Internet, without having to buy and install any software. Demo subscriptions are available.

Meta data for construction
CNet is developing a prototype of a web-based meta data central for the swedish construction industry. The meta data central will allow reference documents, handbooks, norms, product data, project information and other types of documents to be registered and published together with meta data encoded in XML.

Metis gets green light
The Metis project was reviewed by a panel of independent experts in Luxembourg. This is a normal procedure in all CEC projects. The expert panel found Metis an innovative project that is performing very well and gave it a green light to continue.

Termado publishes multi-lingual term catalogues
Today, CNet launched Termado 1.0, a complete tool for management and publishing of term catalogues, lexicons and dictionaries. Using the latest XML technology Termado can publish term catalogues to different media but also export term data to external applications.

TNC selects Termado
The Swedish Center for Terminology, TNC, has selected Termado as their platform for developing and publishing of term catalogues for different subject fields. The first application is within life sciences such as biotechnology and genetics.

NewsToBuy goes to Italy
We have recently signed an agreement with Alterego concerning sales of our publishing service NewsToBuy in Italy. Alterego is CNet's italian representative and will offer NewsToBuy to local newspapers and news agencies.

VNS Online support available
We have improved our developer support organisation and now developers can query our support department directly from the web. Feedback and suggestions for improvements of VNS can also be submitted from the Visual Net Server web site.

Search legislations with VNS
In order to streamline parallell publishing processes and improving customer content services, the publisher Liber has launched an Internet service for their Legislations handbook. The service is targeted to health care workers. Using Visual Net Server, collections of Word documents are translated into an XML-based on-line archive connected to a web portal accessed by customers.

New release of adConnexion
IFRA have released a new version of the standard adConnexion for transfer and exchange of ad information over the Internet. CNet has carried out the technical work behind the new release. During the next year the workgroup will focus on further automation of the ad booking process.

New release of VNS
Version 4.5 of Visual Net Server has been launched. The new features include improved support for Web Services, XML processing and conversion of text formats such as classified ads and article texts, support for international character sets, easier management of Word documents and much more.

Intertex awarded Product of the Year
We congratulate our customer Intertex for the award "Product of the Year" from the magazine Internet Telephony. Intertex's product IX66 Internet Gate is the only broadband router that fully supports the SIP protocol (Session Initiation Protocol) for IP-telephony over the Internet. Intertex uses Visual Net Server to deliver customised on-line manuals for IX66 and other models.

Swedish Rental selects NewsToBuy
Swedish Rental, a trade organisation for rental companies in the construction sector, has selected NewsToBuy as their publishing platform to run their trade portal.

XML Seminars
XML Forum, a swedish organisation for XML, starts a series of seminars focusing on new XML technologies. The first seminar will take place the 5:th of Mars and Peter Rosengren, CNet, will give a presentation on XQuery. CNet is one of the original founders of XML-Forum.

Succesful conference
CNet was participating in the yearly FTI conference. FTI is a trade organisation for translators, technical writers and documentation specialists. We were showing Termado and how it can make the documentation and translation process more efficient.

Metis gets green light
Our European R&D project Metis was reviewed by a panel of independent experts in Barcelona. In this project we are developing new tools for teamwork and document exchange in schools. The expert panel gave the project a green light to continue.

Lensis project finished
The European research project Lensis had its final review in Milano. The project has been run by a European consortium which has developed the next generation IT-support for collaboration and knowledge management in NPO:s (Non Profit Organisations). Peter Rosengren, CNet, has been one of the reviewers/technical advisors of the project which now enters into a commercialisation phase.

CNet evaluates Semantic Web
Peter Rosengren, CNet, has been appointed as an independent technical experts to evaluate project proposals to the European Commission under the sixth framework in the area of “Semantic Knowledge-based Systems".

NewsToBuy for construction
The Swedish Terminology Group has chosen NewsToBuy as publishing platform for their trade portal. The Terminology Group publishes the largest Swedish database over terms used in the construction sector. In the portal news and articles on terminology issues are also published together with links to dictionaries and other terminological resources on the Internet.

New release of Visual Net Server
Version 4.6 of our development platform VNS has been released. Among the new features are improved performance and several new options for creating web services, support for Windows 2003 Server.

Swedish Building Center selects VNS and NewsToBuy
Swedish Building Center, the leading information supplier to the swedish construction industry, has selected VNS and NewsToBuy to implement their new publishing process. Svensk Byggtjänst offers information services to all parts of the construction process from planning to construction and maintenace. Our well-designed support for XML and related standards in the construction industry were the main reasons for selecting our products. The selection was done in competition with all major suppliers of content management systems.

VLT selects VNS
Vestmanlands Läns Tidning (VLT) produces newspaper pages for many different swedish newspapers, typically TV-and radio guides or financial pages. To create a customer-oriented and flexible product VLT has now chosen Visual Net Server as a platform to create their customer pages. A system was implement during the summer and allows VLT to automatically convert XML, Word and text data which is delivered from TV stations et c into ready-made Quark Xpress pages. The production is done using a standardised XML-format, VLTML, which has been designed by CNet.

CNet evaluates Cross-Media

Version 3.0 of our publishing system NewsToBuy has been released. This version has better support for developers with possibilities to program extensions.

IFRA selects CNet
IFRA, the world's leading association for newspaper and media publishing, has appointed Ulf Wingstedt, CNet, as technical expert to specify and design new XML-based standards for advertising (AdConnexion and AdsML) to improve the working processes of the advertising industry.

CNet standardises advertising
CNet has joined the AdsML consortium. AdsML is an initiative supported by Ifra, an international association for media publishing, and the Newspaper Association of America (NAA), in order to create the first comprehensive, global standard for end-to-end advertising workflow.

CNet selects CIO
We have chosen the trade magazine CIO for this years advertising campaign. It is a well-known trade magazine focused directly on our customers.

CNet standardises terminology
CNet has joined the Swedish Standards Institute and we are ow actively working in the standards group for terminology and terminology management. har blivit medlem i standardiseringsinstitutet

Technology for Event Management
CNet is participating in the LIFE-project together with Interactive Institute and the Arvika Festival. The festival is the second largest music festival in Sweden. The idea of the project is to study the learning and innovation processes of a festival and event organisation and to implement software prototypes to support the processes. The project will last for two years.

Metis has finished
Our e-learning project, Metis, has now finished after a final review in Luxemburg. The reviewers were very positive and approved the project. We are now starting the exploitation phase of the project results, which is a set of software for learning and collaboration among schools in Europe.

FLT Media launches a new site for job advertising . The web site has been developed using Visual Net Server.

Sweden Building Center launches new web site
Sweden Building Center is now launching their new web site . The site is the first of a series of new information services that Sweden Building Center is developing with Visual Net Server and NewsToBuy. The web site has a new look and navigation structure and provides the customers with a set of personalised functions and services.

Building products with VNS
Byggkatalogen is a new service from Sweden Building Center. The service offers search facilities for building products on the swedish markets. Pictures, descriptions, measures and properties of products can easily be found and are updated as often as the suppliers want.
