ME3Gas

ME3Gas - Smart Gas Meters & Middleware for Energy Efficient Embedded Services is one of two EU projects that CNet is involved in. The main goal with the project is to raise awareness about the energy consumption within for both residential and commercial buildings.
The ME3Gas projects started in May 2010 and is divided into two mayor parts. The first would be to develop smart gas and electricity meters that will give both user and provider more information about the users energy consumption. The second part of the project consist of a middleware and is based on the Hydra platform. This platform allows any physical device to be connected to the Internet, which means that information about the devices energy consumption and control of the devices will be accessible. This makes it easier for developers to create energy efficient applications that will help the user to save energy. Thanks to the the competent list of partners it will be possible to merge different state of the art technologies, one such integration will be Hydra platform and the Contiki OS for resource constrained devices.
